I've lost my mojo

Ok it's just over 3 wks till Xmas I'm supposed to finish an aran for dd a coat for baby due Xmas a cowl for mil a scarf /wrap for future daughter in law and I haven't knit for ten days I just can't be bothered someone kick me in the bum! It hasn't helped I scalded my hand with boiling water just over a wk ago which in fairness stopped me in my tracks but now I'm just sat looking at wip and thinking well maybe for birthday or next yr. has this happened to anyone else ? How to I overcome it ? I actually hate run up to Xmas and it might be just a December thing I hope roll on new yr for me x

If I were in your shoes I would prioritise those items that wouldn't fit if you were to finish them later. So, start with the baby coat and perhaps the aran unless that is for an adult DD who would still take the same size in six months time. MIL and your future DIL can wait for their items although you may have to find something else to give them as presents which is a different kind of PITA

If the weather forecasts are to be believed then we might be due a dusting of snow either this month or next. I love being cosy inside and working on my knitting or crochet. That might bring your mojo back.

I sympathise though. I've got a couple of projects on the go. One that HAS to be finished for Saturday but is only a baby hat so should be quickly finished and a toddler cardigan and hat set that needs to be finished and posted off in time for Christmas. My mum always knitted me and my sister a new cardigan for Christmas and I remember more than one occasion where she was sewing them up at 11:45 as we were trying to leave for Midnight Mass

All mojos go on holiday at some time, usually when inconvenient. Mine's on holiday too at the moment. They'll be back! I ve got a quilt to finish for a Christmas present - I havent even cut it out yet!

Can you make something small and fun instead of all the "chore" items? I think the feeling of having to make something is often the problem.

I have to make some woolly hugs squares, some crocheted candy canes, another decoration and finish my mother's Christmas present and yet I am making hats for next Christmas . I am hoping I can get onto the "chores" once the current hat is finished

Thankyou ladies. I think now I've caught up on ironing etc I'm gonna try finish baby cardigan. The aran is for my 7 yr old I'm not sure it will fit though and only have one front and sleeves to do its a hoodie and even hood if finished. I will re measure after school and take it from there. Looks like hubbie might have to get his mum something and as for future dil I will see what happens there is always the gift card option ;-)

I was going to suggest something crocheted maybe because I find I have to concentrate much more for crochet and it might make you look forward to knitting again! I sometimes have a week or two when I just don't feel like knitting and a couple of weeks ago I had a sore hand so I left it for a few days. If you really want to make a cowl you could maybe crochet something, I think that might be quicker .
However much you love knitting it can become a chore when it needs to be completed for a certain date and there is always potential for things to go wrong - a stitch dropped late at night and unnoticed can lead to problems days later as we all know!
