What can I make with 4 fat quarters?

As the title says really.

I have 4 cooordinating fat quarters and want to make something for my mum.

I also have a fair amount of unpatterned fabric which would co-ordinate well enough to be a back, plenty of thread and some wadding.

It would make a lovely baby quilt, but that is not much use for Mum. Also the main fabric would best be cut in strips, rather than squares.

Any ideas?

You could make a nice bag from four fat quarters. Lots of free patterns online.

Do you have enough for a lap quilt? Or you could do a couple of cushions.
