Can anyone help me with my christmas stocking?

Sorry to have a christmas related thread outside of the christmas topic but I get very little time to myself so I've had to start early or they'd never be ready in time!

Anyway...

I'd really appreciate any help with making my DCs Xmas stockings.

I've cut large stocking shapes out of felt and and all the decorations are ready to go on. The decorations are all made from felt too but I don't know how to attach them to the stocking.

I know I need to attach them before I sew the two stocking shapes together.

Can I glue them? Or is sewing better? I don't have a sewing machine.

I hope this bit makes sense....
You know the top of the stocking that folds over the top? I want that to be a different colour, but i don't know how to do it.

As you can tell, I'm a complete beginner Grin any help/advice is appreciated!

As its felt glue would work for the decorations and the different colour top (just cut a strip to the width/length you need and stick on). You'll need to sew the two sides together though as glue won't be strong enough to take the weight of presents.

Sewing the decorations on would be more secure and long lasting than glue if you want to use the stocking next year.

If you use fabric glue to attach the decor, it should work fine

Maybe glue a bit of contrast fabric around the top, to give the White sock in santos boots effect, though if you want something more stable, sewing this bit would be better

One of the tutorials in this link might help...

Thank you both for your help. I'll see them together as I was hoping to use them every year.

That link was really helpful, thank you. I think I'm going to go with the 'simple' one. Smile
