Feathers

Does anyone have a good reasonably priced supplier of natural loose and fringed feathers? I'm mostly looking for Pheasant, Partridge and Guinea Fowl and am reluctant to buy from outside of the UK (animal welfare and reliable supply reasons), but seem to be drawing a blank from trawling google.

Many thanks Grin

Try googling fly tying supplies

My dad used to tie flies and had lots of different feathers.

Would you consider getting them from a local shoot or butcher? Phesant season has just started. They would be free but this might be unethical for you even though the birds had a happy free range life until their last day.

I have no objection to shot birds - we are a predominantly game or homegrown meat eating family anyway. I hadn't thought of a game butcher - I know our local shoot sends the birds off somewhere. Thanks Jamman
