Ideas please? I have lots of children and female friends that I would like to make presents for this Christmas. They don't have to be sewing but I can sew and have a machine and lots of fabric.

Go on pinterest. I can lose myself there for hours.

Craftsy.com have loads of free patterns. I've just bought the half yard books from the Bookpeople with half yard heaven and half yard home for £8 for the two an offer ATM there pretty good I will be making most of the sewing presents from those books this year but most of the stuff in the books is available online but I don't sew near the computer and hate wasting paper and ink plus my girls love looking through sewing books to pick out what they want to make. Yesterday DD1 (6) made a door stop so most of the stuff is very easy to make.

Simple make up bags/ pouches go down well and are easy to embellish with appliqué, ribbons and buttons. Or make up brush/jewellery roll. For children you could adapt the above to make pencil cases and felt tip rolls. I love making for Christmas.
