are beanie hats those flower pot ones? you could make one but sticking a bit of paper round your head, surely?

i think a beanie hat is a knitted one that is a simple bowl type one. or sock for your head type thing. at least thats what i think they are called.

Does anyone have a pattern for those hats that you knit like a small scarf, then fold over and stitch up the sides and put a tassle on each corner on the top? They're really simple to make but I need help & I have no idea what they are called?
