Did anyone go to Yarndale at the weekend?

I did!
Had a really good day out, got lots of great ideas and photos and spent lots too
I got an attic24 blanket pack, lots of hooks and needles, buttons galore, a needle felting kit- a new craft to try, and some gorgeous hand dyed merino and silk yarn to knit a lace shawl.
Should be plenty to keep me busy over the winter months.

I went on Saturday. There was some fabulous stuff (I desperately want a Marmalade Rose hare to go in my crafting room!) but it was so busy I could barely get near most of the stalls. I couldn't face having to elbow my way through to buy anything so ended up just pottering round the stalls then coming home.

Me and several other people were also directed the wrong way back towards the station by a steward meaning we missed out on seeing all the yarn bombing through the park

I went on Sunday - a lot less busy, but missed out on getting a Yarndale bag as they only had a few left after Saturday.

And I spoke to Lucy from Attic 24 like a real idiot I felt so nervous, but she was really lovely. I've just started my first neat ripple blanket and we talked about that and the difficulties of doing knitting/crochet with toddler crawling about (give them their own yarn "stash" to play with was her tip)

I was a bit at the number of empty stalls as several Stallholders at the Wool Show in Harrogate said that Yarndale was oversubscribed for stall holders - looked liked they could have got a lot more people in
Woolfest in Penrith is a similar event but they seem to have a bigger selection of stalls

However the Mandalas and bunting were amazing - and came away with lots of stuff and ideas
