Wondered if anyone can recommend some nice ones suitable for a beginner. I already have Nicki Trench's Cute and Easy Crochet, and did have another one with about 10 patterns in it. Unfortunately can't remember the name of it or who it's by OR where I've put it ....

I bought this one Crochet Bible when I was starting out. I still use it 18 months on as it explains the conversion between US/UK terms and has some lovely patterns as well as borders, edging, differences between yarns, etc. There are clear step by step diagrams and photos which are great for beginners :)

Thank you both, will look them up. Mislaid book really irritating me, seems to be a bit of an ongoing problem - keys, books, ipad .....!!

Love 'crappy squeaky wool ....' Have fallen for those once and realised what I'm doing! Wool being used by children for finger knitting instead
