bum! sorry about the above Smile

i am crocheting a cardigan for my dd. it is the first garment i have crocheted.

it says the tension needs to be 22 stitches to 4 inches. i counted and i am doing 22 stitches in 3.5 inches.

i am doing the size up for her to grow into but can i get away with that half inch difference or should i start again?

It'll be 12.5% smaller than it should if your tension is consistent, so I don't think you can get away with it.

I'm not an expert in crochet, so perhaps someone will come and advise you on what to do. Smile

I am NO expert at all (just fiddle about and see what I make, with the best being 'chair socks' to stop them scratching the floor!Smile) but think trying the next size up sounds like a sensible approach.

thank you Smile . i suppose ill have to bite the bullet and start again. just keep repeating "itll be worth it when its done" Grin
