Something for my daughter

My mom embroidered my name when I was a baby, now I have it framed in my room. I'd like to do something similar for my daughter. I'm open to embroidery but I've never done it before. Anyone have any creative ideas on something other than embroidery? Ideally, I'd like to have her name and then a quote..that would take ages to embroider I think!

Cross stitch would work.

I have my little girls name and date of birth on a sampler with a butterfly

Buttons? Google "button art names" or for example the "Emilia" ones show how you could do a quote

I'd go for cross stitch too, it's quite quick, and simple to get the hang of as well. I'm sure if you had a Google there would be many free lettering plans on line, maybe from somewhere like Etsy.
Try to pick a fabric which has an even and clearly visible thread count.

You could do something with paper crafts in a box frame. Some ideas at this link (scroll down to the comments) but there will be much more like this on Pinterest too.

Wow, these are great ideas! I love that button name picture. Do you know what the buttons are stuck on to and what kind of glue they were stuck on with? I think I may do this and then get some paper letter with which to write my quote under the name. I just don't think me and a needle are compatible! Once framed, do you think something like this would last or do you think it would require maintenance over the years?

Thanks all for your help!

this and this sew the buttons on others just use glue but they do use a hot glue gun for example

another glue tutorial for you. I think if it is framed it should last
