Christmas cards......calling card makers

This will be the first year I have made a stock of Christmas cards and need some advice from all you pros out there.

How many do you tend to make? (Dont want to over do it!!!) and what tends to sell? I am assuming people wont buy their main bulk as handcrafted cards and will only buy 'special' ones. So do you just make up 'mum' 'dad' 'aunty' etc etc. Feeling like Im not sure what I am doing! help!!!!!!!!!

I think it depends on how you are going to sell them. I did a Craft Fair last year & my best sellers were the plainish lower priced ones.

I also gave a 'set' of designs to a friend to take into work - some of the people wanted the cards but they asked for them to be personalised (ie Mum & dad, kids names etc)

Thanks Whizz that is helpful. I had done a batch of plain low priced ones and was wondering whether to just do those or more 'flashy' ones.
