Crochet with bad hands

Bassetfeet · 06/08/2014 18:55

I so would like some advice and comfort hookers . My dominant hand is now partially numb .,little finger and ring one . Weak hand and finding it so hard to grip .
Tests are ongoing and I don't know if this is permanent .
Feel very low ....can't hold my crochet hook properly and the weakness just makes everything slide and slip.
Guess am asking the impossible but anyone have any advice or similar problem they have managed to overcome ? Thank you .

Have you tried a chunkier hook? Would that help perhaps?

AnyaKnowIt · 06/08/2014 19:03

What hooks are you using at the moment?

Are you using any with handles?

CastilianHhhhidalgo · 06/08/2014 19:05

You can buy comfort grips for crochet hooks, would something like that possibly help?

craftynclothy · 06/08/2014 19:09

Hooks with polymer clay handles might help. I got two from etsy.

I got a set of ergonomic ones from eBay-they were pretty cheap and my hands no longer cramp.

I use the Swing hooks, they are fantastic!
Hope you find something that helps

Another vote for the Addi Swing hooks - I can crochet forever with those, other hooks make my hands ache.
