anyone used copper sheets before?

I want to make a house sign (an indoors one hanging from chain in the front porch) and have a nice bit of wood lined up for it. I really fancy having letters cut from copper and wonder if embossing copper might be too thin?

Anyone any thoughts/advice please?

I don't think it would be too thin, Gatekeeper. It'll probably be easier to cut - are you using scissors or do you have a die cutting machine? How are you planning to stick the letters to the wood?

The plan is that I look for a font which ticks my boxes then print out name of house and use this as a template. Will cut out with scissors, turning over the edges slightly but not sure how I will stick on the letters to the wood. Still thinking about it in my head at the minute...

Thank you Strawdolly

It sounds nice, Gatekeeper Smile

Often when I'm cutting a fiddly thing out I'll stick it to a double sided glue sheet first so that once it's cut it's self adhesive, IYSWIM. I'm not sure that would work if you're bending the edges in a bit or if it would stick to wood. Maybe something like Hi-Tack glue might work.
