newbie to the card making/creative memories/scrap booking stuff.

I went to a memories party last night and did 1 page in a srap book and absolutly loved it, so was wanting to start doing it properly - althou I don't like their prices.

Jarm has suggested the range for products which i'm going to in a bit, but I was just wonderin if those card pack thingys in the argos book are any good for newbies?

also how do u all do scrap books if u do them? - i'm thinking i'd really love to do one of the boy for the grandparents for xmas - a bit of a cheaper coop out type thing but I know our mum for sure would prefer that to anything I could buy.

Argos is fine for newbies. other places I would recommend include The Range and I like Modern Scrapbooking for internet scrapping stuff.

I think the Argos is do-crafts? If so, then it's decent quality.

Keep and eye out for Basic Grey stuff, that's gorgeous on masculine stuff, and their baby boy range is delectable.

I start BTW by writin down memories and phrases that come to mind, and going from there.

D0 Crafts has a good guide on their website, and they do a mag for £1 in theor stockits.

argos bitz are good, and prices are fair too.

have a look out for doodlebug stuff and pebble inc, they have lovely baby boy and boy papers, embellies etc.
I have also fallen in love with 7gypsies bitz.

lol, thanks girls, was really enjoying it yesterday, althou to do the creative memories stuff it would work out a v v costly hobby - she wanted £130 to start u off with a decent pack! (money I can ill afford) DH recons I'm sad but I really liked it! lol.

yep

I buy stuff from all kinds of places, it can be as expensive or as economic as you make it. if you want to budget, it's really easy to get some great stuff cheaply.

just brought my first lot on ebay wasn't much but if I don't like it then i've not spent out much.

roll on xmas for my xmas cards! lol.

Have you seen UKScrappers?
The gallery over there is excellent for inspiration and there is a marketplace too where people sell off their unwanted scrapping goodies at good prices....ideal for newbies to the hobby(addiction)
