A cross-stitch sampler kit thingummy for DS2 - where to buy?

Something tasteful - nothing with droopy-looking rabbits.

I want to make one for DS2, since DS1 has one someone made for him and it's lovely.

I'd like one I can put his first and second name on, his birthdate and his birthweight.

Where can I get one?

i have a whinnie the pooh one (not sure that counts as tasteful) that i wont use if its any use?

I get most of my cross-stitch kits and charts from Sew and So - they're really good, I've always had next-day delivery.

Search under Samplers and Children ... there are hundreds!

Thank you, JARM, that's v kind - I'm afraid I'm not a huge Winnie the Pooh fan though - sorry!

Thinking about it, I've got hundreds of cross-stitch magazines knocking about that have probably got samplers in them ... want me to have a look? It would save you the cost of a chart, you'd just have the threads to find then.

Think I might have a noah's ark one somewhere ...

Miaou · 13/09/2006 21:22

Oh, actually iirc it is an alphabet sampler, not birth sampler - sorry.

Another vote for Sew and So, they are great.

WWB, that's really kind - thank you.

This is the sort of thing I like

OK - I'll have a look tomorrow and see what I've got. I should be able to find something, there's cross-stitch magazines as far as the eye can see in this house!

WigWamBam · 14/09/2006 10:45

Mmmm, the cross-stitch magazines are full of birth samplers but they're all a bit cutesy and twee - there's one quite nice Peter Rabbit one but it's not a "traditional" one like your link.

A friend of mine has got this one which is more traditional but less boyish and less playful than the one you linked to. I could borrow it if it's any use to you.

Sorry - I really thought there would be something you could use!

I saw this, and was picturing your DS sitting doing a cross-stitch sampler himself, and though - 'how modern'!
