Fabric by the bolt.

I've started a few quilting projects recently including 3 twin size quilts all of which are on a white background.

It's made me wonder if it's worth buying a whole bolt of white fabric such a Kona white. I know I'll use it again and again but it's a big expense at £200+ for a bolt.

Has anyone bought bolts of fabric before? Was it worth it? And if you have any recommendations about where to buy a bolt it would be very appreciated!

I bought a bolt of cotton voile once and used it a lot at first...but then got bored of it and it's sat unloved in the spare room for the last year. But you are probably a much more consistent person than me!! Try looking at eBay? you can usually get decent deals on fabric there.

Yes I have - bolts of unbleached canvas, and yes it was worth it and it has a million uses and also dyes really well when needed.
