A crochet question

When doing Amigurumi is it best to go down a hook size from that recommended for the wool?
Also.....
Does anyone know of a pattern for a crocheted Toothless. Whenever I Google I get a free one that looks OK but which Ds doesn't like or one from a woman on etsy. I ordered the etsy one nearly 2 weeks ago but it seems as if she has taken my money and isn't going to email the pattern...... ( come Monday I shall be taking it up with PayPal...)
Thank you.

Hi, I would say yes to going down hook size, it's what I do as I figured smaller holes mean the stuffing is less likely to show/escape.

I'm afraid I have no idea what toothless is but re email pattern...have you checked your junk mail folder, otherwise I'd try direct contacting seller first before PayPal.

Good luck!
