question on vellum and gel pens

just brought some sheets of vellum and allready had the sakura gelly and souffle pens, when i use them on the vellum when it dries the vellum goes all funny and wavy any tips on what to do? TIA

I use vellum for detailed drawings and have found that the vellum needs to be prepared so you work on the"rough" side - just needs a good rub with an eraser -

sorry do you mean there is 2 sides to vellum a rough side and a smooth side??? so to stop it from going wavy i should just rub a rubber over it??

vellum goes "wavy" for a few reasons - too much liquid ie. watercolour too wet or using the "smooth" side - it is very difficult to tell one side from the other, hence the use of an eraser over the entire page - it roughs up the paper fibres a bit and allows better absorption of colours, inks etc -
But that is just my experience, so maybe someone else can shed some light on this for you.
