Knitting Novelty Items

I have been knitting for years but recently started knitting novelty items just to make a change
Whenever I knit garments for myself am very rarely happy with them, whilst those I do for others are always fab
So I started knitting cakes, fruit, veg etc - flowers are fun and I ave been using them to decorate soft furnishings
Currently am knitting a set of the clangers for a friend - showing my age somewhat as they were a part of our childhoods!
I would welcome any suggestions of other things I could knit

Ravelry and the Crafster forums are great for that sort of thing. With a bit of digging you can find some good patterns on DeviantArt as well.

I knitted a nativity earlier this year. That was good fun - lots of sewing up though.

I think there are Daleks and tardises on Ravelry. They would go down a treat in my house.

I don't mind sewing up - I have got a book of Xmas decorations to knit but am too hot at moment to even consider them!9

I knitted sandwiches for a yarn bomb at the Botanic Gardens in Glasgow.

Thanks Jace - I enjoyed making them. I had such fun deciding on what fillings I could knit or crochet - and making sure that most of the sandwiches were knitted with oatmeal yarn - because brown is far more healthy than white!! Grin
