London fabric shopping

I've decided I deserve a day to myself as dh has had quite a few weekends/weeks away over the last couple of months and I've had no time out! So...I want to have a day of fabric shopping and general mooching in London. I'm a cheapskate fabric shopper so looking more towards market stalls than Liberty's! I've heard vague noises about Goldhawk road and Walthamstow. Which is better, or is there somewhere else I should think of?

Goldhawk Road every time :)

Definitely Goldhawk Road, but I fancy Walthamstow too, which I haven't been to!

If only we had an Abakhan in London......

.....actually, no, I'd have to be dragged away Grin

Goldhawk Road, too, for me - it's the little clutch of shops by Shepherd's Bush Market which is interesting.

Fabrics Galore up on Lavender Hill are pretty fab, too.

Joel and Son? keep your purse clutched close to your chest though!

Goldhawk rd is awesome. I suggest going with at least some idea of what you're after, so as to avoid being completely overwhelmed.
