Fabric shops in West Yorkshire/Newcastle areas

I'm desperately trying to find some bright wool upholstery fabrics at a decent price and I'm visiting Skipton (strictly speaking North Yorkshire but most of the mills are just across the border in West Yorkshire) and Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the half term. Does anyone know of any factory shops or large discount fabric warehouses in those areas that might be worth a visit?

TIA

1st for fabrics in benton industrial est Newcastle has a large variety of material but I'd phone first to check they have what youre after, the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Dainty supplies in Washington does all craft stuff from wedding invite paper to flowers to material but I'd check with them also, its a huge aladdins cave of stuff!

I was at first for fabrics a couple of weeks ago and they had some lovely tartan upholstery stuff. Really nice bright colours. I would say they had more curtain and upholstery stuff than dress fabric. There's another one very near by which does just curtain and upholstery stuff - no dress fabrics. I thinks that's Absolutely Fabrics. It's literally about 2 minutes walk away.

Dainty supplies is very much dress fabric only, no curtain or upholstery weight stuff the last time I was there.

At Skipton there is the Fent Shop. It's mostly curtain and upholstery with only about a quarter of the shop having dress fabric.

There was a place called Simply Fabrics in Wallsend but I've haven't been. I'm not 100% sure it's still there. It's was on Wallsend high street but was mainly dress fabric according to reviews I could find. If it still around I would love to have a look over half term! I can't resist a fabric shop!

Also may be out of your way but Immanuel Fabrics in Burnley is well worth a visit. It's very much an alladins cave of fabric - rolls are stacked floor to ceiling and you have to rake around a bit but they have some really nice stuff

Thanks for all your suggestions. I'll definitely visit the two neighbouring ones in Newcastle. I've visited the Fent Shop in the past and haven't found anything that suits me but Burnley isn't too far away so I'll go and have a rummage (OMG, just found some photos of it on a blog).

Has anyone been to Croft Mill in Colne - that seems to have a lot of upholstery fabric according to its website. Also, I found a manufacturer with amazing fabrics just outside Keighley - Abbotsford - but it doesn't mention if it has an attached shop or what the prices are - does anyone know it?

Absolutely Fabrics has more upholstery type fabrics, 1st for fabrics has dress and craft fabrics as well as some upholstery stuff. However they face each other on the trading estate (across from The Asda at Benton if you need to direct someone)

Have you looked at Abraham Moon online? Vv £££ but they send free samples
