Ds has a cardborad castle. It's one of those colour in yourself things and he loves it. However it isnt sturdy. Each side bends ertically in the middle and it makes the thing so flimsy that it just wont stand up.

I was thinking of getting some sort of rods, like bamboo sticks from a garden centre, and fixing two on each 'wall' horizontally. One at the bottom and one at the top. We still need to be able to fold the castle at the real joining corners for storing it.

Does anyone think this will work or is there something better i could do?

Even thick strips of corrugated cardboard, glued on the inside of the castle, might do the trick (and be less likely to poke DS in the eye). But if you do that, have the grain (the lines) of the corrugated cardboard go across not up and down, otherwise you will have the same problem.

Thanks titus! Good point about poking him in the eye! Could cover with masking tape to prevent that. Will try with cardboard. We have loads of boxes in the roofspace. Thank you.

Diagonal supports would be better - structurally
