2 couples me and dh are friends with are getting married next year, one couple are good friends, the other are very close friends (I'm a bridesmaid, dh is best man). I want to think of something to make as a wedding present. I'm thinking of knitting a big blanket/throw for the first couple but I need an extra special idea for the second couple. I knit and sew, any suggestions?

How utterly refreshing to read you are going to put time, effort and thought into your gifts.

An heirloom throw is a lovely idea.

A quilt is lovely. if you are up to the challenge google the pattern double wedding ring for a traditional present. you could always piece the quilt and get it professionally long armed quilted if time is a factor.

Ink I'm currently making my first quilt, if it's not a disaster I might make them one.

easter don't like the tree style afghans, I will probably just do a pretty stitch pattern. If I'm feeling brave I might make it up myself since you can't go to far wrong with a large, flat pieve of knitting.
