I want to make a 'this is your life book' for my MIL who turns 60 in November. Thought I'd get lots of photos off family and friends and put them all in a nice photo album/scrap book along with quotes from family members and happy memories.

Am total novice at this, just wondering if anyone has any nice ideas or hints and tips for me, I want it to be something special for her to keep.

Thanks

We did one for my gran and we got a red leather looking photo album which looked like "the big Red Book". All of the family did poems and memoires and photos in it, some of the younger ones did paintings for it.

Drawings/messages from the grandchildren would be lovely.

You could buy a scrapbook from Whsmiths for about 9.99 or get a 12x12 photo album from boots 9.99, then you can get backing papers which are 12x12 from lots of places and some plain paper from tescos to mount the photos. I think the idea about getting people to write their own script is a great one

Just to show you this is a page from my current 'DS' scrapbook

here

You could add bits of paper where people have written their stuff.
