you too?

if I lived in the uk we could have a big scraps swap instead. i have a sackful of bargain roll-ends that I haven't got round to doing anything with yet. fabric shops in spain are rubbish in comparison though.

MrsFio · 25/08/2006 16:17

oh SP, i have just been to my favourite fabric shop and it is very very old fashioned but she buys in gorgeous batiks and allsorts and I have bought

6m of ticking
2metres of striped jersey
and a metre of bloody cat fabric

apart from the ticking I have no use for the others at all!!

cat fabric sounds good. I've taken to just pinning things to dd as drsssing up clothes. she likes them.

but, sorry, you're going to have to tell me what ticking is.

JessaJam · 25/08/2006 16:28

another guilty party here...have shedloads of fabric squirrelled away around the house just in case I should suddenly need 4 metres of navy guazey stuff or a metre square of blue tie dye!!

MrsFio · 25/08/2006 16:36

oh ticking is like an olde fashioned cream and browny stripey (linenish) fabric...it isnt the real thing, it just looks like it. It was a £1 a metre thats why i bought it and it will make lovely blinds....

I have piles and piles though.....

shall i get you some cat fabric?

oh hurrah jessejam is the same

And there is even less chance of me using mine as I have killed my sewing machine and still not taken to a nice repair man (or woman,I'm not fussed!) to put it's guts back inside!

MrsFio · 25/08/2006 16:44

can you con someone into buying you a present

OP posts:
JessaJam · 25/08/2006 16:50

hmmmm...doubt it! Just need to bite the bullet and get it sorted!

SenoraPostrophe · 25/08/2006 17:15

jessajam - have you disembowelled you sewing machine???

i miss fabric shops.

surroundedbyboys · 25/08/2006 17:37

MrsFio · 25/08/2006 17:39

I've been trying to find somewhere that sells tiny bits of roll ends to use on cards - no luck though. I only need scraps !

MrsFio · 25/08/2006 17:58

I have lots of scraps!!! ask for patchworkers scarps, if they are not...erm precious, they may send you some whizz

OP posts:
Whizzz · 25/08/2006 18:04

I'll have to go begging then
"Please may I have your scraps?"

MrsFio · 25/08/2006 18:05

yes, and please put your tattiest cap out in front of you

SenoraPostrophe · 25/08/2006 18:07

Whizzz · 25/08/2006 18:12

Aw thanks folks ! To be honest, I haven't really looked that far afield and I probably have far too much craft stuff as it is !
