Maybe that's like a Swiss roll, with jam in the middle

perhaps Austrian blinds ?

sounds fun I must say - I keep meaning to learn how to make Roman blinds - have all the stuff and the instructions but am just too lazy!

Whizzz · 24/08/2006 20:04

Kids cushion covers could be good....some funky designs or kids names on ! Shop ones are usually boring and/or over priced

I hope not Austrian too! Roman blinds are just as you describe but if in a light fabric don't even need the dowel. We have Ikea ones all over the house as a more stylish alternative to net curtains and I'm sure I could make them more cheaply than they do...

That does sound exciting Dior, I fancied something like that on Mat leave but they don't do anything locally. Good on yer. Certainly a fab business opportunity to sew as there are not many around these days that can.

Sounds great, you lucky thing. I have made curtains. They were from some check material I got from Toys r us to match nursery stuff. Because they were check they were easy to cut into squares. Oh and they are tab tops cos' they are easy. BUT if you look closely, they don't look finished like shop ones do. Thats what I would love to learn to do - finish things properly, so when you find out can you post.

thanks, I can't see your first attempt (I'm v.bad with computers). yes i'm sure i can find a similar course in my area. thing is I can hardly hold a needle, perhaps I'd be too much of a beginner!

kiwibella · 03/10/2006 10:18
