Homemade flat nappies - which fabric?

So I'm thinking about making my own nappy squares to fold and use as flats under wraps and I'm wondering what fabric to use. Is traditional cotton terry best, or bamboo? I've just read about bamboo fleece being good..? Any advice? Thanks!

Bamboo. We used washable nappies, some squares although mostly shaped nappies. We had bamboo terry squares and cotton ones too.

The cotton ones are marginally quicker to dry, but since they both are a single layer of fabric the bamboo still dries really quickly, but is noticeably more absorbant.

They stay fluffier for longer too - some of the cotton ones were like wrapping with cardboard off the line!

Rue is Zorb also used for folding like a terry or is it better for extra pads/soakers?

For bamboo - do you recommend straight bamboo or the fleecy kind? I know a fleece liner can be good for wicking away dampness but is bamboo fleece any good for the main absorbent part? Plush Addict have a stretch bamboo fleece they say is perfect for nappies but would it be leakier, being fleece..?

AIUI zorb is used inside soakers - so for a prefold you'd need to put a cover over it maybe of terry or something? It's really absorbent and less victim to compression wicking than other options. I've not used it myself, but my sister has and really rates it - she uses it to stuff AIOs.
