Funny you should say that, I was looking for Christmas cross-stitch kits on ebay last night, don't know what started me off.

Lovely card

Nice card - triangle trees are great !

UCM · 22/08/2006 21:55

Hello Whizza me ole mate, nice to see you. I have just learned by scanning threads that you are out and about and methinks I should mail you to catch up.

Triangle christmas trees are piss easy as well, thats why I do them

I've started, too.

Ours are going to have a thistle theme this year - silver and purple thistles.

Lovely cards UCM

Last year I did cross stitch for special cards.

What do you call that kind of card making you do UCM? Well I'm going to try and make some like that this year as I'm hoping it will be a bit quicker than cross stitching. Have visions of LO & I sitting and making some special xmas cards together too.

Hopefully get some supplies at the weekend

Whizzz · 22/08/2006 22:02

Cod would call it cutting & sticking

UCM · 23/08/2006 08:16

It's literally cutting & sticking as Whizz says. To get the squares you need either a cutting mat & knife of small guillotine. Holly is a die cut. Printing is just one on pc and stuck yet again onto more squares.

Christmas tree, triangle of felt with beads stuck on. some sticky ribbon and some gold merry christmas peel offs.

Card making is as easy as you want it to be.

I did think about saying the cutting and sticking card making but it doesn't sound sophisticated enough!

I definitely want some self adhesive items - find all the little gems & sequins a bit fiddly to glue.

poppiesinaline · 24/08/2006 18:04

I started on my Christmas cards this week. I have been cutting and sticking like mad!! LOL.

UCM - that card was lurverly. Very effective.

Blondilocks · 26/08/2006 18:45

I ended up buying more birthday card sets in the works today ... may get round to christmas ones soon!

I think I've got enough to make birthday cards for the next few years!

UCM · 27/08/2006 01:21

Ours is closing down for stock remerchandising (wtf) so I trotted in there today hoping for some bargains, they were nearly sold out of crafting stuff

OP posts:
Blondilocks · 28/08/2006 10:11

Hopefully they will have lots of new stuff when it reopens.

I saw some handmade cards for sale yesterday & they were £3.99 each... feel justified in buying all these nice crafting bits now (& also got some ideas!)

shortcake · 28/08/2006 10:16

Thank you for that - I was just thinking about christmas too! and thought i was the only one!! Am looking for Christmas card ideas too!
