Aarrgh! Oh wise sewing MNers, where can i find this??

So, i have been commissioned to make a Bomber jacket out of a vintage racing drivers all-in-one.. Yes, all is in hand, but can i find 1 metre of 5" ribbing to go around the bottom? (preferably with a bit of elastene).

All i can find is ribbing for cuffs

Do any MNers know where i can find some online pleeease?

Ummm..off a sweatshirt? I've always found it difficult to get hold of this.

Perhaps you might need to consider elastic instead?

Dots n Stripes sell it by the metre. Is that any good?

Thank you for replying.. as you can imagine the fabric is pretty tough, so i need a ribbing with some 'oomph', akin to the sort you'd find on a leather Bomber..
I can trawl some charity shops, think sweatshirt ribbing won't have enough body Orange, but i don't want to end up paying £15 for a jacket just so i can unpick the ribbing. You're not wrong, it's proving a bugger to find!

Oh, elastic won't cut it, the client is really in to his clothes, and i need to match the existing cuffs as close as possible.
(Why oh why did i spring clean, and chuck out a leather bomber last year???)

I mean case the elastic. So it's trapped inside a strip of fabric. I think that may be your only option.

Ah yes i see! I can possibly do that as a plan B, but it won't be classic bomber and he's very fussy..

Just bought some ribbed fabric online, and if it's flimsy will use it to encase wide elastic, which will give it the oomph.. yay! Thank you
