A cushion I have made to give to DM on Mother's Day. She has no idea I've made it.
The cross stitch was from a pattern and is the most complex thing I've tried so far. My outlining isn't very good - the white cat has a lump on his head which definitely shouldn't be there - but I'm pleased with it overall.
I used two fat quarters to make an envelope-back cushion cover. I made the 'frame' for the cross-stitch with bias tape and top- stitched it (wonkily) to the front piece before assembling the case.
There are definitely things I could improve - the corners aren't mitred properly for a start - but this is the first cushion I've ever made so I feel pretty chuffed! And I think DM will like the design - it's much more her taste than mine
