probably a stupid question N machine sewing a coat

I'm sewing a coat and am struggling to get my janome to get through the thickest layers as the foot doesn't go high enough to let the fabric move through. Is there a special foot I could get? if so, what is it called? I asked in JL and they said something like that exists but they didn't know the name.

Tia...

I know you can get a walking foot which helps with the thickness/layers

But I've never heard of anything to help with the height. Have you got a sewing/craft shop nearby?

My Janome has an extra high lift on the foot, it feels as if you are forcing it higher but it's for sewing thick fabrics. I just used it to make this rope Moses basket so you can see it's pretty thick solid stuff to sew.
It's a Janome J3 24.

Does your machine have the highlift presser foot, ie when your presser foot is in the normal raised position you can lift the lever upwards and it will bring the presser foot higher. So the machine has down, up and higher. Does that make sense?

I can't see how replacing the foot would help, most sewing machines are low shank ie if you measure from the bottom of the screw where the ankle attaches down to the base plate it is probably 2cm, a high shank machine would be 3cm, these are usually embroidery/computerised.

Unless you can lift the shank higher then you still won't clear the fabric underneath.
