A nice and reliable little sewing machine?

I would like a small but reliable sewing machine, it needs to be small due to a lack of space in my flat. I want it for making rat hammocks and toys so it needn't be amazing! Grin

Any recommendations?

Under £100 as well, if that's possible/worth it?

I've heard good things about the basic Pfaff machine. It's a German make and well built. From what I understand some of the cheaper machines are constructed with the motor encased in a plastic shell which makes them less robust. The Pfaff ones are largely metal construction (on the onside) and are well anchored in. I haven't used one but have a more expensive version and absolutely love it.

Link to machine. It's called the Pfaff element 1050s. It's £99.

Thanks :) I'm now looking at some slightly more expensive ones, the brother LX17 mostly.
