ok I will own up that I am not the world's most blessed arts & crafts person. One of the things dd has to take to school on her first day is a shoebox covered in self-adhesive paper which she then has to decorate.

How do I cover the shoebox so it looks nice? If I measure the sides and cut them out, it will still not look great at the joins, I'm sure of it.

We have some sparkly silver and some sparkly gold self adhesive paper (she chose it) and some angel stickers (also dd's choice).

Thanks for any tips!

put the box up side down and then wrap it up as you would a present. You don't need to cut the paper to fit the sides as you can fold the ends in (like you would for wrapping a present or doing hospital corners when making a bed)
You will probably need to make cuts in the flaps that hang over though so you can fold them in neatly.
Hope that makes sense - it doesn't to me as I read it back but I know what I'm talking about and wish I oculd show you!

oh I wish you could show me too, I am hopeless at this kind of thing. Always looks like I tried to do it with my toes instead of my fingers. I'll have a bash though thanks. Never thought of turning it upside down!

THanks yorkshirelass,
didn't have a clue how to tackle this. I'm getting a bit worried if this is for the first day of school, how I am going to cope with years of these kinds of tasks!
