Are there any real sewing enthusiasts out there?

Theoretically, if dd1 had a dress whose bodice and skirt needed detaching and then rejoining, involving a certain amount of gathering [scream and run], is there anybody out there who could/would do this? In return for what? Money is in short supply but could return favour in some way or swap for books/maternity trousers/baby clothes/something?
Just thought I'd ask tentatively, as I can't see me doing it and my mum is so busy I wouldn't feel right asking her.

Hmm, not impossible although without seeing the dress it's hard to say. Why does it need doing - is it alterations, or is it just coming apart?

twocats, will work for baby clothes....

They were coming adrift a bit, and the dress was a little long anyway, then this morning they came apart considerably more. The material is very light - feels cottonish but wouldn't rule out viscose as it can vary so much.
I have baby girl clothes...

That doesn't sound unreasonable (I was just worried in case it was some kind of weighty bridesmaid's dress or something!). But obviously I won't know until I look at it. Do you want to drop me a line on waden at lineone dot net and I'll see what I can do.

And all I have at the moment is a bump, don't know what kind!
