Can anyone recommend a crochet mag I can get a subscription for? I don't knit for crochet only please.

I like simply crochet.

Simply Crochet is, IMO the "Mollie Makes" of crochet. It's good and has all the aspirational cute lifestyle IYSWIM. I like it.

I also like Inside Crochet which I think is a little more down to earth and sensible.

Both have a good selection of patterns though. I'm not sure whether there are other pure crochet magazines readily available in the UK.

you can get a 3 month subscription to simply crochet for £1 and then cancel if you want. I quite like it but its quite twee!

Simply Crochet for me too. I love buying it each month and always find something to make.

IDugUpADiamond · 14/01/2014 19:32

awaywego1 how can one do that? I'd like to give it a go but don't want the commitment. these magazines are so expensive!

Have you thought about a book?
Try Crochet for Dummies or The Complete Photo Guide to Crochet.

Both of them give clear, easy to follow instructions to all the stitches and the ways of using them.

In the long run it works out cheaper.

I can't find it now sorry..but it was on one of the Christmas bargain threads so you could try a search.

If you go to the attic24 blog and look in late November there is a link there for an offer for simply crochet as Lucy now writes a column. It may still be valid.

IDugUpADiamond · 15/01/2014 16:08

Funnily enough I have just finished my own version of the Attic24 granny stripe blanket. I just have to do the border.

Can't see the link to the subscription though Sad

Lonecatwithkitten · 15/01/2014 16:19

It's at the very bottom of the blog on the 27th November where Lucy talks about starting to write for Simply Crochet, there is a clicking link, but it may not work any more.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I have a few books and love the thrill of getting a magazine each month. Had a look at simply crochet and inside crochet and gone for simply crochet. Will point my oh to attic 24.
