Painting a tree on my wall

Ok this sounds a bit bonkers and maybe I am posting in the wrong section, but I have a spare blank wall above a radiator in our dining room and have always thought we should do something tree like on there. I looked at decals of trees and saw some nice ones but keep thinking I should have a to at painting my own. On top of this now I have decided it would be fun to use it as a kind of noticeboard then and do something cheesy like put some family pics on the branches and have a stock of leaves we could all write gooey lovely cheesy messages about each other on. Just wondered if anyone had any words of wisdom about this tree and how I could paint it.

Sounds fab! They had a tree of life on the wall at a school I visited once covered in art work the pupils had done. It was so interesting. Not sure about the best way to paint it though, sorry.

Ah that sounds good. Think I need to get some inspiration for my tree.

I have a tree! We have used handprints as leaves and call it the family tree. The only thing is it will be hard to paint over in the future.

Ooo really? How did you do the tree? Any chance of a pic?!
