Any crochet experts about? I am doing this Nordic Star afghan square, and am stuck on round 8. I get that I am supposed to be making a series of loops around the edge of the piece, but it is telling me to do 7 repetitions of five loops - but that I will end up with 48 loops. I had one go, and ended up almost all the way round, with only 43 loops and not enough space for another 5 loops to be fitted in.

Can you have a look at the pattern, and see if you can see where I am going wrong, please?

Have you made a mistake in a previous row that means there aren't enough stitches at the end of row 7?

Are you just repeating the bit in the brackets 5 times on each "point" - the single crochet at the beginning is only done once at the beginning of each repetition. Apart from that, or having too few stitches from the round below I can't see where you could go wrong.

Lovely pattern BTW. Grin

I don't know how I did it, but I managed to get the right number of ch-3s, eventually, and finished the square - I have put a picture in the FB MN Yarnaholics group - I can't put one in here.
