What can I get them? I know that she has needles and wool, but what else can I get to add to her collection?

Are there any lovely child friendly books that I could get? Some nice wool?

Help!

Hi Looneytoonie there's so many lovely books out there theres are always really nice and easy to follow or if she like knitting maybe help her t try her hand at crochet in which case there are some lovely books on crocheting little toys called anagarumi. Or alternatively get her a nice bag to keep all her knitting needles in, I got one round the same age and still use it now! It's been pretty invaluable !
Good luck !

Some of those things which you place on the ends of your needles so the stitches don't come off. really handy if you are a kid and just put your knitting down any old place.

A knitting kit for a scarf or purse might be a good idea too. Depends how good she is when it comes to reading a pattern. She may find that a kit is not challenging enough.

I am impressed an eight year old is knitting. I am a crochet teacher and my daughter still can't get the hang of it and she is 11!

I got given an adorable kit for xmas from The Little Knit Kit Company (or something like that) it's aimed at beginners which i'm not but will be a nice quick fun project for me. It's got everything you need to make a little knitted cat teddy.

Or if you wan to give her something longer lasting then a book would be good, and some wool to make a project from it.

We has this Usborne book about knitting which is very easy to follow.

Thanks everyone. Great suggestions here.

It's DD's best friend - she's picked it up quickly and has already made a scarf and a little bag for DD - they're beautiful and full of patched up holes but really well-loved!

Lantern Moon do some cute tape measures. I've seen them on many online knitting sites.
