If I want a multicolour effect from a rubber stamp, I could stamp in black ink then use watercolour pencils...but is there another way? Are there pens you can use to ink the stamp different colours in the first place?

Yes.

But that's not much help is it?

!!!
Do I need a special kind of pen, Soupy, do you know what to get? And do I need the fancy stamp cleaning solution too?

And are there more options - which do you tend to go with?

Personaly I tend to be boring and ink with a black waterproof ink then watercolour afterwards.

Other options (I am not an expert stamper BTW!!!) are using markers pens such as Marvy directly onto the stamp; multi colours ink pads, there are loads with 3 diff colours on.

Have a look on the Hero art site- I think it was there that had some nice ideas but it was a while ago when I last looked!

I am only just getting into stamping & have just discovered Marvy pens + a water pen for mixing & blending. I'm still practising so can't offer any tips!

baby wipes for cleaning. you can get pens for coloring in the actual stamp or use cats eye inks.

you could also chalk the image

marvy pens are fab!!

you could also get a multicoloured stamp pads that work brilliantly. you can stamp straight onto ink or you could get a brayer
