Hello, I used to lurk on these threads, but deleted the mumsnet app in the hope of achieving more, but I'm now stuck with an amigurumi pattern and didn't know where else to ask for help.

The pattern is for a bunny and the head, body, ears and arms were all very straightforward starting with a magic circle. The legs start as follows and I'm completely flummoxed:

RND
1 Ch7
2 Work in both sides of the chain. In the 2nd ch from the hook, sc in the first 5ch. SC 3 times in the next ch. SC in the next 4 ch, Inc in the last ch.
3 Inc in 1st, 7th, 8th and 14th SC

Round 1 and 3 are fine, but round 2 confuses me. I'm intrigued as I follow loads of patterns pretty well.

Any help would be very gratefully received.
Thank you very much.

When you work in a foundation chain you normally crochet through the top part of the stitch - so fir the first 5 stitches you do this. You will then have one stitch left (the first chain you made) - work 3 stitches into this loop. This will take you round so that the bottom of your foundation chain is at the top. Now work 5 stitches into each loop at the bottom of your chains until you get to the last loop. Increase in this stitch.

I hope I have explained this properly Smile

You'll end up with something shaped like a Viennese biscuit with those three rounds. An oblong with rounded ends.

Oh that's fantastic. I didn't realise that 5ch meant the next 5 chains. That makes perfect sense. Am in bed feeding the baby so can't have a go at the mo, but am desperate to try it now. Thank you both VERY much. Thank you for taking the time to explain.

Ah, I guess that's bunny's feet. Wonder if it's one I've made.

My last baby let me crochet over him, this one it's impossible.
