Need sew/iron-on letters, at least 2 inches high - or should I try to embroider them myself?

Would prefer the first option - if I can't find them, please give me idiotproof instructions on the easiest way to sew the letters myself ... Haven't done any sewing at all for years.

(Only iron-on ones I can find are this style - would prefer something less football-shirty)

there's a Vilene product called Bondaweb,you iron it onto some fabric cut around whatever shapes you need and then iron it onto the clothing.I'm not explaining it very well,but it's very easy to use.
