I have a serious and urgent case of the wanties. It is gorgeous and I know family members who would love it for Christmas, but what is this style called? I don't even know to search for a similar pattern for it.

And any helpful advice regarding colour changing yarn is welcome too. I assume this is probably DK?

Long colour change yarn...

DK King cole riot ( if they still do it? can't find on a swift google)

Drops delight ( 4ply and worsted)

Moochi yarns (comes in 4 ply aran and chunky)

jawool magic or zauberball (4ply and lace).

Oh and various noro yarns- very marmite and odd to use though.

Free pattern of a similar design, less fancy, which may suit a beginner to crochet

You lot are wonderful Grin

Forgive my lack of experience, but are any of those yarns nice and soft? Nothing worse than a scratchy scarf!

For me noro is icky! Like bailer twine but some like it...

The others are fine. The drops is " wooly" but soft when washed. THe riot is acrylic and itch free but... umm... acrylic and not my favourite
