Could I ask a really thick knitting question?

Am going to knit a moss stitch scarf for DD - this one. What does 'with yarn held double' mean? Do I cast on with two lots of wool, or do I knit the whole thing with doubled up wool? Thank you!

Knit the whole thing with two strands of wool. Easiest just to use two separate balls. Grin

Thanks for the really quick answer vvviola, off to the wool shop shortly. I probably sounded really dim, but I havent ever knitted anything double before Blush

No problem Grin

Hope it works out well. What are you making?

A scarf (link in first post). Its just about finished now as I sat and knitted it whilst watching Becket on TV yesterday afternoon. Am really pleased with it.

If anyone else uses the pattern (not that most of you on here would need a pattern for a scarf I guess!) then I made it with 13 stitches rather than 11 as that comes up the perfect width.

Thanks again vvviola, really appreciate your help.
