I've been given today a raw Jacob fleece. I make needle felted items and while I am excited to be using local wool I have no idea how to clean it.
I've googled and found that putting it in very hot water with detergent and not aggitating much should be ok? But should I keep it in one piece or make it into smaller pieces?

Which detergent is best to use? USA people use something called dawn?
This is my first post on this forum but I've got lots of useful advice from it. Thanks!

Woolfest have a good download telling you how to prepare the fleece.

If you click on the "Fleece" tab , you'll find it there.

Dawn is a dishwashing detergent so I would have thought something like Fairy would do - just nothing biological or containing enzymes.
