Hobbycraft have three for two so I bought some Rowan big wool in lipstick shade to make some cowl scarves for presents.

I found this pattern for a single loop cowl

She also has a link if you want to make the cowl more like an infinity scarf and double it up.

Using a size 10 hook means it is very quick to make.

Its a lovely colour

I will upload pic of the finished cowl.

I've just started it but decided I didn't like the gaps the double crochet made so I am making it less hokey and using hdc instead.

So instead of four chains to start first round after joining the chain, I have made three stitches.

Hdc here

Looks great, can you upload photo of finished product? I need to finish a baby Arran knit cardi before I start on any more projects but may have to try this before winter hits. Pattern bookmarked - thanks

I made her double loop cowl in cream Aran last winter and it was so snuggly looped round! That one used puff stitch. Her blog is great for ideas, also learned the benefits of really tight amigurumi there (2cm hook with DK, beautiful finish!). Enjoy the big wool, I'm not allowed anywhere near a hobbycraft anymore Wink

Picture on profile of incomplete snood! I need to do a few more rows!

Yes snowflakepie, I fully understand what you mean about Hobbycraft!
