I have offered to make the favours for my brothers wedding in sept - stupidly thinking it wasthe easy option.

I don't want to spoend looads of money but dont want cheap and nasty either.

any ideas of things i can make myself which will look great and not run of the mill stuff?

thanks I like those ideas - although I knw a lot of the guests dont smoke - nice thought though.

I want them to look a bit crafty but not too complicated

Small boxes (got ours from Hobbicraft), spray painted to match theme, then filled with whatever you like. Mini tubes of Lovehearts, or more sophisticated Thorntons or kiddy sweets.

Also heard of someone who filled similar boxes with plant seeds of brides favourite flowers.

depends on how big the wedding is. You can get the bits on ebay easily enough.

trivial pursuit card & joke in each bag - it's good for conversation
wildflower seeds in a themed envelope - easy to make and lovely keepsake.
suger almonds - traditional (there should be 5 in each bad)
wine bottle stopper
charm/ornament
coffee
candle
magnet
Potpourri
Scented candles
Aromatherapy candles
Bars of herbal soap
Small picture frames
Chocolates
Mixed nuts in bottles
Bouquets of flowers
Small bottles of wine
Gift certificates
Custom stationery
Custom vases
Decks of custom cards
Lottery tickets
Calendars
Personalized puzzles
lotto tickets.

Last wedding I went to they had bought tea light holders like this (in fact I think they might have been those. They decorated them with the wedding date, a few squiggles and hearts with glass paints and put your name on it. It was lit when you got to your table, and worked as a place marker/favour.
