A gift from my neighbour, it's cotton and about the size of a large bath towel. I'd like to make something very lovely and not a cushion. I do plenty of hand sewing/clothes tailoring but I don't have a sewing machine. I'd love some ideas so I can use this please.

Thank you

My first thought was :cushion, but if you don't like that idea...How about a thing that you hang over the side of a chair, tucked in on the inside and on the outside you make some pockets for the remote and a hanky and maybe a bit of knitting and a paperback...?

Is it the sort of fabric you'd use for clothes or for furnishings? A bag?(look at Amy Butler designs for inspiration). If the fabric is thin you could interline or quilt it.

Three tutorials for covering boxes with fabric.

You don't need to sew, the box or boxes can store your sewing things and if the fabric is as lovely as you say, the boxes will look nice on display.
