Embossing...fiskars?

Anyone know how good the fiskars embossing plates and tool are as compared to sizzix style embossing?

I've got a Fiskars shape boss & have 1 Sizzix Happy Birthday Embossing folder. Its easier to get a good finish with the Sizzix but the Shape boss is more adaptable if you want to emboss custom designs / letters.
(Actually I'm thinking of selling the shape boss as I don't use it that often)

Is this thread title in Icelandic?

F&Z

looks like you can emboss a larger area with Fiskars...but is the quality of the finish not that great Whizzz?

is the shape boss one of those textured plates with a mushroom shape tool to rub the design through with?

I use my mini boss a LOT. I find the quality good, but then I do a lot of embossing so maybe am practised? Don't know. I would recommend it personally.

I especially like the alphabet and borders, as it's always nice to have extra options for those, and am getting the Christmas ones soon.

this is a shape boss system

mousiemousie · 07/07/2006 15:51

this is what I had in mind, hadn't even heard of the shapeboss!

There now, have educated you LOL!

mousiemousie · 07/07/2006 16:36

but peachy now there are three options so I am even more confused as to which to get!

Th results are good from the Fiskars & its much more versatile - but its just more fiddly to do than using a Sizzix

I don't have a sissix- did, but when it broke after a few weeks couldn't be arsed for another, just swapped for vouchers.

But I am odd not to have been blown away by it

I DO like the shape boss though, and it's big 12 X 12 inches iirc (mines a6 sized) and has a box built in to keep all your paraphernalia in, which helps.
