25cm circular needles

I wanted to knit a hat in the round but have noticed that all the patterns use DPNs to decrease at the crown.
After trying to use DPNs I know I'm not going to get on with them. Soooo can I just buy a short circular needle and decrease on that? Or is that not going to work.

Google magic loop if you've not used circulars before. it'll show you how to knit in the round for small items.

I've used circulars for cowls.
What length can I use with magic loop?

you want a long one for magic loop
100cm would be good and handy for lots of other projects too

meadow yarn will post for about a pound if you are only buying a circ and they stock some good ones. Or Art of Yarn on EBay has circs too but deliver is sluggish IME.

Thanks I've been looking on eBay, I'll get some on payday.
