I did a kids'crochet kit in the summer and really enjoyed it so with the help of YouTube I have been doing a couple of little granny square things. Then I discovered the above pattern and made it in two days and it looks FAB.

I have sore wrists and the house is a shit tip but it's so wonderfully soothing and I am hugely proud of myself.

I'm beyond chuffed that I can finally make something which is actually giftable! Now I'm off to the craft shop for more yarn and some buttons

I used a DK acrylic from the charity shop in a heathery pink with hints of blue - the entire thing cost me £1.95!

The next one is in a chunky merino for my Mum at Christmas.

I've just picked up some chunky merino in a slate/charcoal colour with short purplish pinky sections. Going to try a chunky version. The DK on 6mm needles hangs really nicely so I'm a bit worried it won't work so well with a chunky yarn but it's all they had in the shop which took my fancy. I guess I can always unravel it if I don't like it :)

That looks lovely, an incentive for me to actually get crocheting!

Thanks so much for linking to this-I have started to learn to crochet the last couple of months but had only learnt granny squares so far and had got bored with making a million for a blanket now.
I've been off sick this week from work and have now made one and a half infinity scarfs-one from very fine wool and one from chunky..it's so easy and addictive-although hard to work out if the chain is straight at the beginning so my finished scarf is very very twisted but I still luffs it

I'm working up to cushion covers because mine are well past their best!

This is another easy one - it's just TC (NB: the pattern is American so it calls it DC). By putting two TC into each of the chains, it makes it curl - nothing complicated :)

(And can I just point out that MotherOfSoupDragon is not my mother. Thank god.)

I'm making the curly scarf with a chunky wool and a 7mm hook.

Wow! It looks like it must surely be complicated, one to add to the list (which is getting longer daily!).

I have a burning desire to do a blanket so I am squirreling pennies towards the Lucy Stylecraft pack. I think first I'm going to try a ripple cushion cover though with some charity shop yarn.

It's not complicated - that's what's so fab about it - looks really hard but isn't. The curl just happens naturally :)

Oh, I thought I recognised the name- I have her Eloise baby sweater in my favourites. Hoping to start it next week.

I like how she explains it and shows the diagram as I learn better that way.
